Drop Spindle Spinning Workshop : Tuesday 7th July, 11am–2pm:
Discover the traditional craft of turning fleece into yarn at our Drop Spindle Spinning Workshop led by textile expert Mairi Campbell .
Learn to spin wool using a traditional drop spindle, explore the unique qualities of different sheep breeds, and create your own colourful woven picture to take home. Along the way, uncover the rich social history of spinning and weaving in rural Scotland and the women who kept these skills alive. Ideal for anyone interested in craft, textile art, or local heritage.
Ages 16+, maximum 10 participants. Please bring a packed lunch — tea and coffee provided.
